Wajah Asia Website

My name is Bert Labrie from The Netherlands. 

During my holiday in Indonesia in 2009, I photographed many people. 
They gave me a smile and V sign so they didn't mind that I photographed. 
This was the start to create a website dedicated to photographs published in the places I visited. 

I thought, if there is a special website,
 I will upload my pictures and all these people I photographed can download that picture, and it's 100% free. 

y Asian friends understood my story. 
My friend Augustine Agung started designing. 
Unfortunately I had to go home because holiday was over. By chat we stayed in touch about website design, color, appearance and so on. 
 had to think about a domain-name or website address. Finally I had a fancy name invented called WajahAsia.

 

In Yogyakarta, I spent at least 2 hours a day to be a road photographer.

 Every day I shot pictures of walking, shopping, working, sitting, driving and moving people. 
First I asked for permission, but never they refused, 
they always said: Yesssssssssssssssssss 

After about 1 - 4 pictures, I gave them the red WajahAsia business card. 
After reading, they were very nice surprised and happy and they visited this website.
 After 4 weeks of road photography, I gave at least 1500 WajahAsia business cards and more than 5200 people visited the website.  

Now I already visited VietNam (HaNoi, Hue, Ho Chi Minh city / Saigon) Thailand (Bangkok) and again Indonesia (Jakarta, Bandung, Bogor, Surabaya, Semarang, Magelang, Yogyakarta, Solo, Purwokerto) to promote WajahAsia website by Road photography actions like I did before. 
Soon I hope to do the same in other Asian countries.
